Volunteers & work experience

If you would like to get involved and offer your services as a volunteer we would love to hear from you. Our volunteers help in many ways: helping on the box office, stewarding at events, serving on the bar, distributing publicity material, providing a bed in their homes for performers and office administration.

We are able to offer a limited number of opportunities for students to do work experience. The Acorn Arts Centre is a receiving venue which means that we do not produce any shows at the venue. We do not have a backstage, props or wardrobe department. We are unable to offer work experience placements with our Technician for people under 18 due health and safety reasons. Our Technician only works evenings so anyone wanting to do work experience in this department will require transport and be prepared to work evenings.

Most work experience at the Acorn Arts Centre is office based administration.
